Gor in talks with Miheso for a new deal

Just a day after being voted fans’ player of the month, Gor Mahia have confirmed they want to renew midfielder Clifton Miheso’s contract.

Club assistant coach Sammy Omollo ‘Pamzo’ said Miheso is a reliable player and the officials are in the process of getting his signature afresh.

‘’Mihesos’s contract has lapsed but we still need him. Club officials will engage him to extend his stay at the club,’’ said Pamzo.

Uncertainty surrounding his future at the club begun after the expiry of his contract, but with the latest development, the dependable winger is set for a new deal.

According to Omollo, they are yet to know of any other player intending to leave the club as the end of the season draws near.

This is after Harambee Stars midfielder Kenneth Muguna and Charles Momanyi recently left for Tanzania’s Azam and rivals Tusker FC respectively.

‘’Other than Muguna and Momanyi, we don’t have any pending request of a player who intends to leave. Perhaps we may get to know when the transfer window opens,” said the coach.

Miheso nailed the award following the club’s despite Gor’s poor performance in the month July – having failed to win a single league match. This is the first time in a decade the reigning Kenyan Premier League champions failed to win a league match in a month.

“I am so excited to be the first winner of this award and I thank all my teammates because this is a team sport. To the fans, I can’t be more grateful,” noted Miheso.

The Harambee Stars man joined Gor from National Super League (NSL) side Police Football Club during the reign of former Coach Steven Pollack.

Gor Mahia are on a mission to sign a midfielder from DR Congo and a Cameroonian striker according to inside sources.

It is not however clear whether the new signings, should the deal go through, will feature at the CAF Confederations Cup which kicks off next month.
