Gor Mahia reclaim leadership of KPL after Homeboyz draw
Gor Mahia went top of the Kenyan Premier League on goal difference after drawing 1-1 with stubborn Kakamega Homeboyz at the Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega Friday.
Gor assumed the lead in the 40th minute through Nicholas Kipkirui and it seemed K’Ogalo were en route to the routine win but Homeboyz red-hot striker Allan Wanga struck late, late in the game to ensure for shared spoils.
Gor now top the log on 45 points, same as second placed Sofapaka and Bandari though K’Ogalo have a better goal difference.
Compared to Sofapaka and Bandari, K’Ogalo still have three games in hand and could go nine points clear at the head of the table should they win their remaining games.
