Gor Mahia players and technical bench officials are yet to land in Algiers, Algeria, less than 24 hours before tomorrow’s crunch Caf-Confederations Group D clash against hosts USM Algers after spending the night at Casablanca Airport in Morocco.

Gor flew out of the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi on Monday morning and were to connect to Algiers via Morocco but unfortunately had to endure the cold night in Casablanca.

According to club chairman Ambrose Rachier, besides the government giving them less tickets, the route used was long forcing them to endure the long cold night at Casablanca airport due to lack of accommodation plan in Morocco.

Rachier said that the players are tired, adding that he is negotiating with a hotel in Algiers where the team will probably be booked.

Rachier added that he has received a distress call from coach Dylan Kerr complaining about the long route and lack of sleep arguing it could affect their performance tomorrow.

Meanwhile, team doctor Patrick Opiyo has arrived in Algiers ahead of the team that left yesterday without him. Opiyo alongside Rachier travelled overnight via Turkish Airlines and arrived at 10 am this morning.
