Gor preparing deals for five new signings

Kenyan Premier League champions Gor Mahia FC are close to completing deals for five potential signings as they beef up their squad for new season.

Gor’s Secretary General Ronald Ngala says all five deals are at ‘advanced stages’ and expects them to be complete in the coming few days with three players from the reserve team also set to be promoted to the senior rank.

The players are Dennis Oalo  of Nairobi Stima, Sony sugar duo of defender Abdalla Shura  and midfielder Tobias Otieno, Elvis Ranock of Nzoia Sugar and Curtis Wekesa of Nairobi Stima.

‘’The idea of signings has been rushed by the media. We have not had signatures of the five players but they are training with us. The coach will give his final list later today before they can append their signatures,” Ngala said.

Gor have been hit by a mini-exodus with captain Harun Shakava, Philemon Otieno and Francis Kahata all expected to follow Jacques Tuyisenge in leaving K’Ogalo.

Ngala told Citizen Digital that they are seriously looking for a local or an import striker to replaces Rwandese striker Tuyisenge who decamped to Petro de Luanda of Angola.

“Our midfield is packed and we are seriously looking for a striker either locally or from other leagues. That is our major area of concern’’.

Ngala also denied reports they were on the verge of signing Rwandese midfielder Djabel Manishimwe from Rayon Sports.

Gor will leave for Kigali on July 5 for the CECAFA Kagame cup and will be joined by Otieno and Joash Onyango following  Harambee Stars exit from AFCON last evening after Benin picked a point from their last group F match against Cameroon.

Kahata’s contract has expired and is on his way to Tanzanian giants Simba SC.
