Gor ready for league restart- Muguna

Gor Mahia captain Kenneth Muguna says they are more than ready for the FKF Premier League kickoff even though they have no control over the dates.

The top tier competition was initially primed to kickoff this Friday but has been pushed back by a week as the federation deals with ‘logistical challenges’.

However, in the face of it all, Gor captain Muguna says their goal is to defend the gong when action resumes.

“We have no say over when the league will restart. We are just preparing for the kick off and this time round we are targeting an early win. As I speak, the team is very much prepared,” said Muguna.

“Players are curious to get back to the field of play. We need total fitness ahead of the CAF Champions League assignments and the local league as well,” he said.

From the initial fixture list released by FKF, K’Ogalo are primed to launch their title defence against Tusker, then face Ulinzi Stars, Mathare United and Sofapaka in that order.

Gor have been holding light trainings at their Two Rivers training ground and playing build-up matches as they prepare for the new campaign and the CAF Champions League where they are set to face APR of Rwanda in under 12 days, in a two-leg preliminary fixture.
