Trouble is brewing in Gor Mahia’s camp here in Dar es Salaam, ahead of their opening match against Rayon Sports of Rwanda after the team rejected the hotel reserved for them terming it ‘sub-standard’.

The team led by head coach Dylan Kerr are not happy with the standard of the hotel as it lacks some facilities such as a swimming pool.

A crisis meeting held here on Saturday between Gor Mahia`s team manager Jolawi Obondo and Cecafa secretary general Nicholas Musonye resolved to have the players shifted to a better hotel.

“It’s true. As you’ve heard and seen the players are not happy with the hotel and we are trying to get an alternative,”Obondo said.

“Basically, the players want a hotel with better and bigger rooms and recreational facilities such as a swimming pool.

“This(stand-off) will however not interfere with our performance,”Obondo added.

Musonye, on this part, added: “The issue has been brought to my attention and we’re sorting it out.”

Gor launch her campaign for the title and the Sh 3million cash prize tomorrow when they take on Rwanda side Rayon Sports at 3pm at the National Stadium.
