In Summary

  • The first leg tie is penciled for the weekend of   Dec 22/23 away in Algiers, while Gor host the return leg on the weekend of Jan 3 in Nairobi.
  • The Algerians knocked out Al Nasr of Libya 4-0 to set up a mouth-watering tie with K’Ogalo.

After dispatching Rwandan giants 4-3 on aggregate, Kenyan record champions Gor Mahia will now meet Algerian side Belouizdad in the CAF Champions League first round fixture.

The first leg tie is penciled for the weekend of   Dec 22/23 away in Algiers, while Gor host the return leg on the weekend of Jan 3 in Nairobi.

The Algerians knocked out Al Nasr of Libya 4-0 to set up a mouth-watering tie with K’Ogalo.

Should Gor cruise past this stage they’ll romp into the money-mining group stages where a tidy Sh 50 million kitty is up in store.

However defeat will drop them to the CAF Confederations Cup knockout stage.

Last year on March 4, Gor lost 0-1 to another Algerian side Hussein Dey in a Caf Confederations match and will be aiming for better results this time round.
