Gor Mahia, Kenya’s representatives in the Caf-Confederation Cup flew out last night for Pretoria, South Africa to honour a return match against SuperSport United after a visa hitch and lack of funds nearly curtailed the trip.

The team which will be hoping to either beat or draw with their hosts to storm to the group stages of the competition however travelled without key strikers, Jacques Tuyisenge and Ivorian Ephrem Guikan.

The squad of 18 players and five technical bench members wore sombre faces on the plane after a chaotic  and energy-sapping day that saw them shuffle between the South African embassy here in Nairobi and City Hall– the seat of power for Nairobi County– where they met Governor Mike Sonko who bailed the team out with air tickets.

The match kicks of at 8pm(Kenyan time) at the 28,900 seater Lucas Moripe Stadium.
