Gor winger Miheso wins Player of the Month award

Gor Mahia winger Clifton Miheso has been voted fans’ most outstanding player for the month of July.

Miheso nailed the award following the club’s mixed performance in the month July – having failed for the first time in over a decade to win a single league match.

The winger, who is currently uncertain of his future at the club after his contract expired and is yet to be offered a new one by the club, featured in all five matches for the defending Champions in the stated month.

Miheso was who is now Ksh.25,000 richer and walked home with a trophy to decorate his cabinet courtesy of the club’s sponsor after emerging the winner, is excited and appreciates fans for voting for him and a good word to his teammates saying it’s a team sport, not an individual sport.

“I am so excited to be the first winner of this award and I thank all my teammates because this is a team sport. To the fans, I can’t be more grateful,” noted Miheso.

Speaking during the presentation of the award, the club sponsor’s MD Victor Sudi reiterated the company’s resolve to support initiatives by the fans such as this to encourage players to put in extra effort.

“We shall continue with this award and for the remaining games, I urge you to put in your best effort because we will be here again next month to present the winner as voted by the fans,” noted Sudi.

Captain Harun Shakava on his part thanked the club sponsor for the support saying the award is an extra motivation as the club prepares for continental assignments next season.

Other nominees for the award were midfielder Ernest Wendo and Captain Harun Shakava.
