Harambee Stars coach Francis Kimanzi has handed Gor Mahia defender Joash Onyango the armband for the 2019 CECAFA Senior Challenge, while releasing his best 11 for their tournament opener against Tanzania set for 4pm.
Ulinzi Stars forward Oscar Wamalwa has also made the XI, as well as Sweden based Anthony Wambani, the only foreign based player in the squad.
Wambani will marshal the midfield alongside Gor duo Kenneth Muguna and Lawrence Juma, with Mathare United’s Kevin Kimani and Bandari FC’s Hassan Abdallah.
Western Stima goalkeeper and gifted set-piece taker Samuel Odhiambo has been tasked between the posts, in what will be his debut for the national team.
