Gors Oliech back to training after a four-day go slow

Gor Mahia striker Dennis Oliech is back to training with the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) record champions ahead of Wednesday clash against Tusker FC.

Oliech missed Sunday’s 2-0 win against Algeria’s NA Hussein Dey, protesting club’s failure to pay him in time.

Gor Assistant Coach Zedikiah ‘Zico’ Otieno confirmed that the player was part of the squad that took part in the Tuesday morning training session.

“Oliech was part of our normal morning training session and he looks sharp, he was in good spirit and that was good for the team because he is an important player,” said Otieno.

It however remains unclear if Oliech has been paid before resuming, with the coach avoiding the subject.

Club chairman  Ambrose Rachier is however on record promising to settle the matter on March 28, this year.

The 17-time KPL champions will be seeking to move into second place on the league standings when they take on the 2016 champions at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani.

Fresh from a morale-boosting win over Hussein Dey in the CAF Confederation Cup, K’Ogalo will be looking for victory as warm up to their return match against the Algerians.

The Kenyan representatives will then jet out on Friday for the return leg, with Oliech expected to be part of the travelling party.
