Govt to allow fans into Nyayo Stadium for Gor, NAPSA Stars game

The Government will allow a limited number of fans into the Nyayo National Stadium for Sunday’s CAF Confederation Cup playoff match between Gor Mahia FC and Zambian side NAPSA Stars, the Kenyan club’s chairman Ambrose Rachier has said.

The Ministry of Sports has set a 30% capacity limit, or 9,000 spectators, with those permitted required to wear masks and observe social distancing as they go to their seats.

Tickets will be sold at City Stadium, Kenya Cinema and Nyayo Stadium round about. VIP tickets will be sold at Sh1,000 while terraces will be charged at the rate of Sh500.

Rachier was speaking on Ramogi FM ahead of the contest.

Spectators have been banned from stadiums since November last year when competitive sport was allowed to resume in the country following an eight-month break caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
