Harambee Starlets back in camp

Harambee Starlets back in camp

The national women’s team Harambee Starlets reported to camp on Thursday at the Kasarani Stadion Hotel ahead of their upcoming Olympics Qualifier against Zambia.

This follows the government’s timely intervention after the team’s camp, which was scheduled to kick off early this week, was called off due to lack of funds.

The team is expected to be full-house on Friday, and will hold their first training session in Kasarani.

A friendly match against the FKF National Centre of Excellence has also been lined up on Monday next week.

Starlets forward Mwanahalima Adam thanked the CS for Sports, Amina Mohammed for her intervention and FKF President, Nick Mwendwa for fighting for the team.

“First and foremost I would like to thank God for this chance to come to the camp and train. I also like to thank CS Amina Mohammed and FKF president, Nick Mwendwa, for the fight that helped to release the funds,” she said.

Starlets will host the first leg match on November 8 in Kasarani while the second leg has been scheduled for November 11 at the Nkoloma Stadium in the Zambian capital Lusaka.
