Harambee Stars intensify training ahead of weekend twin friendlies

Harambee Stars under new coach Sébastien Migné on Tuesday embarked on preparations ahead of two friendly matches against Swaziland and Equatorial Guinea with a two-hour workout at the Kenya School of Monetary Studies.

All the local based players initially called up for the twin ties scheduled for Friday (against Swaziland) and Monday(E.Guinea) took part in the session, save for George Odhiambo, who is out with an illness.

“All the players who are required in the camp are available, even those from AFC Leopards and Gor Mahia.

“Only George ‘Blackberry’ Odhiambo did not make it today because he was ailing but the rest of the training went on  well,” Football Kenya Federation Communication Director Barry Otieno claimed.

Swaziland are expected to jet in tomorrow ahead of the Friday tie while Guinea will land on Sunday.

Stars’ foreign based players are expected to link up with the team in the course of the week.

The friendly come on the wake of a a tug of war  between FKF and the Kenya Premier League Limited (KPL) over the Mashemehi derby – with the former pushing for the postponement of the match.
