Harambee Stars line-up against Zambia released

Harambee Stars coach Bobby Williamson has released his starting line-up against Chipolopolo of Zambia.

Keeper Arnold Origi takes back his place between the sticks with Brian Mandela, Lawrence Olum, David Owino and Dennis Odhiambo marshalling the defence.

Team Captain Victor Wanyama, Ayub Timbe, Collins Okoth and Paul Were earn their place in the midfield while Dennis Oliech and Michael Olunga lead the hunt for goals.

Harambee Stars first match against Chipolopolo was in October 23, 1964 when Kenya was invited for Zambia’s Independence Celebrations with Kenya winning the tie 3-2.

Kenya and Zambia are pooled in group E, alongside Guinea Bissau and Congo Brazzaville in the fight for a slot at the AFCON to be hosted by Gabon in 2017.

Both teams are looking for a win having drawn in their first encounter with Kenya battling to a 1-1 draw away in Congo Brazzaville while Zambia drew 0-0 against Guinea Bissau in 2014.

Ahead of the match, Kenya is ranked 116 globally and 35th in Africa while Zambia is ranked 74th globally and 19th in Africa, according to the latest FIFA ranking.

The match will be played at the Nyayo National Stadium on Sunday at 4pm.
