Harambee Stars to begin AFCON 2021 campaign away to Egypt

Kenya’s national football team, Harambee Stars, will begin their campaign for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations finals ticket away in Egypt.

The Stars are penciled to take on the might of the Pharaohs on November 11, 2019 with the match likely to be played in Cairo, Suez or Alexandria.

After this clash, the Sebastien Migne coached side will turn their attention to a home match against Togo. This match will be played in Nairobi on November 19, barely a week after tackling the Egyptians.

The Stars have been pooled in Group G of the qualifiers with Comoros Islands being the other group opponents.

The top two placed teams in each of the 12 qualification groups will earn automatic slots to the finals.

Kenya participated in the Afcon showpiece for the first time in 15 years this year in Egypt and will be aiming to make it back- to-back appearances.

The Pharaohs are the top ranked team in the pool at position 58 in the Fifa rankings, followed by Kenya at position 105, Togo (128) and Comoros at position 148.
