Hassan boxed-out of Commonwealth as Kenyas dreams go up in smoke

Kenya’s hopes of securing at least a bronze medal in boxing at the ongoing Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia have been dashed after medal prospect Shaffi Hassan was eliminated Tuesday  morning in the quarter final stage of 46-49kg category, losing 3-2 to Ugandan Juma Miiro in a split point decision.

Despite the Kenyan starting well, his right hand went dead, costing Team Kenya dearly according to head coach Patrick Maina.

Maina said that the  referees decision dealt a blow to Kenya’s chance of  winning a medal at this years games.
