Homeboyz unveil star- studded squad for Sepetuka Sevens

Series champions  and table toppers Homeboyz have named a star- studded side ahead of the Sepetuka Sevens to be held at the Eldoret Sports Club at the weekend.

From the look of things,  the hosts are leaving nothing to chance as they are set to parade  their Kenya Sevens star- trio of Bush Mwale, Augustine Lugonzo and Joshua Chisanga in their 12-man squad.

However, there is no room for Kenya 15’s international Cyprian Kuto and Tony Onyango, who have both been dropped ahead of the tournament.

Augustine Lugonzo and Bush Mwale were part of the successful Kenya team that won the historical Singapore Sevens , and will be looking to add to their team the needed experience.

Former Newcastle Falcons powerhouse Joshua “Reign”Chisanga, Kenya Sevens flyer Leonard Mugaisi and Jeff Oluoch, are the other notable inclusions in the squad.

The “Deejays” having accumulated 51 points in the just concluded rounds and leading the standings, will be under no illusions as they clearly know the task at hand.

Their goal would be to to rumble in front of their adoring  home fans.

Being the first ever rugby tournament to be held in Eldoret, rugby fans will be treated to a rugby bonanza in the two day tournament to be held at the “cool” Eldoret .

Homeboyz head coach, Paul Murunga,  in an interview with Citizen Digital, said, “We are delighted to be the hosts of this tournament as part of the national sevens circuit and we can only urge our fans to come out in large numbers and support their team.”

Homeboyz will kick start their campaign in Pool C against newly promoted tier 2 side Mount Kenya University at 10:50 and later on lock horns with university side Mean Machine at 13:30 in day one of the Sepetuka Sevens.

The thrills of world class rugby entertainment, the ride of non-stop action, with no time outs and endless breath-taking feats from the best players in Kenya, will be on display for the fans  in the two day event.
