Kenya Harlequins flanker Herman Humwa will replace injured Arthur Owira in the Shujaa squad for the upcoming eighth round of the 2017/18 HSBC Sevens World Series in Singapore on April 28-29.

Humwa last featured for Shujaa during the opening round of the Dubai and Cape Town circuits and gets another chance to don the Kenyan jersey for the upcoming assignment.

He will join his teammates Willy Ambaka and Eden Agero who also ply their trade with the Kenyan franchise.

On the same breath KCB’s Owira has been ruled out for the rest of the season after fracturing his femur in their  47-0 win over Zambia at the Commonwealth Games rugby sevens competition in Gold Coast, Australia.

Following the injury, he was admitted at the Gold Coast University Hospital but was discharged.

Owira is expected to be sidelined for four months and will immediately begin his rehab under a physio.

Shujaa,  placed seventh on the series log with 82 points will get to play England, USA and France in their Pool B fixtures.

They managed to collect 38 points in Vancouver and Hong Kong where they finished second to Fiji in the twin Legs.

The Innocent Simiyu will look forward to replicate their 2016 Main Cup win against Fiji in memorable final.

London and Paris circuits will be the last two legs after Singapore for the 2017/2018 season and Shujaa will hope for a Cup win to end the season on a high.
