I know the trick to floor Senegal- Paarwaters

Kenya national rugby 15s team head coach Jerome Paarwaters has pinpointed Senegal’s key strength as their ‘physicality’, ahead of their Saturday’s Africa Gold Cup match at the RFUEA Grounds.

Paarwaters has therefore told his charges to prepare for a ‘different challenge’, coming from their recent resounding victory over Tunisia, of 100-10.

“I have watched their matches against Uganda and Tunisia and saw they are very physical, so it will be a different challenge for us.

“Upfront they are very physical so we have to restructure our defense. Our biggest challenge is defense so we must work on it indeed,” charged Paarwaters.

Their win over Tunisia saw them climb to second on the Rugby Africa Gold Cup log with 7 points, three behind leaders Namibia who won their second match on the trot, defeating Senegal 95-0 in Windhoek.

Some of the Kenya Sevens team players rejected Simbas call ups to play for their clubs elsewhere.

“We have a couple of good players who plays for the Sevens team but unfortunately they had to go for their tournaments. I’m however happy with the squad we have, and people have to follow their hearts,” the coach offered.

Paarwaters cleared the air about his role in the national team after complaints that he is not spending enough time with the team.

“Kenya Rugby Union is in support that I work with Western Province and my first job is with them because they pay my salary, but I think so far we have done well as the national team,” he concluded.

Senegal is expected to land in Nairobi on Thursday night.
