I regret joining Chelsea, Pedro reveals

Former Barcelona star Pedro has told his friends that he regrets leaving Barcelona for Chelsea.

Pedro signed for Chelsea in the summer for £21.4m in a tense transfer which also placed rivals Manchester United in the race.

The Spaniard is said to have opted for Chelsea following convincing from fellow Spaniard Cesc Fabregas.

A debut against West Brom seemed to light up Pedro’s career at Stamford Bridge but the glamour has since faded with Chelsea’s poor performance which has placed them at position 15 in the Premier League log stealing the headlines.

According to reports on express.co.uk, Pedro has told Fabregas he wished he had never left Barcelona adding that he is ready to move back to Camp Nou.

Pedro’s unceremonial departure from Barcelona was occasioned by lack of enough play time as new manager Luis Enrique sets out to build a new team.

Meanwhile, pressure is still pilling on Mourinho following a string of poor results, with the Capital One Cup loss to Stoke on Tuesday aggravating the situation.

Representatives of Mourinho are said to have held talks with Inter Milan and Paris Saint-Germain as the possible homes for the embattled manager, according to The Independent.

Reports indicate that Chelsea management is already lining up Mourinho’s replacement with Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola, and former Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti top on the list.

Sacking Mourinho may however prove costly for Chelsea as they would be required to pay him more than £30 million, to settle his four-year contract.

Despite the pressure currently facing Mourinho, Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is said to be reluctant to sack the Portuguese and willing to give him more time to deliver, thus dispelling recent claims that a defeat to Liverpool on Saturday may be the final straw on his tenure at Stamford Bridge.

Intermediaries of Mourinho and PSG are understood to be in contact in preparation for life after Chelsea and a possible move to Parc des Princes.

It will be keen to watch if Mourinho’s move to the Lauren Blanc-coached side would affect their interest in Real Madrid star Christiano Ronaldo, owing to his strained relations with Mourinho during his time as manager at Santiago Bernabeu.

Inter Milan have also been seen as a possible home for Mourinho with the move taking him back to the club where he is still adored having won the 2009-10 treble of Serie A, Italian Cup and Champions League.

The current speculations are not new as Mourinho made similar ‘noises’ in 2012-13 season when he realised that his time at Real Madrid was over.

Several Chelsea players have however voiced their support for Mourinho despite the tumultuous season.

John Terry, Cesc Fabregas, Gary Cahill, Cesar Azpilicueta and Diego Costa have come out to stand with the embattled manager who has also been charged by FA over gross misconduct following his dismissal against West Ham.
