Ulinzi Stars head coach, Robert ‘Lion’ Matano has promised to return to the technical bench even stronger after undergoing his scheduled operation and subsequent rehabilitation for his kidney ailment.

The jovial coach told Citizen Digital on Tuesday morning he was looking forward to resuming his duties with even more vigour than before after internet trolls claimed on social media he had passed on Monday night, triggering the outpouring of tributes.

“Tell them I’m alive, strong and very soon, I’ll be back! I’m on the way to recovery and tell them they have added me more years to live. They wished me to go early but God knows that I’ll be there for many more years.

“Tell them that Matano Robert has said so,” the tactician declared in living to his reputation as a tough tactician.

A major fundraiser towards his scheduled operation in India will conducted early next month as he continues his weekly dialysis visits after the revered two time Kenyan Premier League (KPL) title winner launched a plea for assistance.
