In Pictures: 25th edition of Discovery Cross Country

There was tough competition at the 25th edition of the Nike Discovery Cross Country held on Sunday in Eldoret as both seasoned and upcoming athletes faced each other.

The event also attracted a huge support from local athletics-enthusiasts with award winning athletes like Vivian Cheruiyot making an appearance to support their colleagues.

Mathew Kiptanui won the junior category clocking 23:21.2 while Isaac Kipsang and Rodgers Kemboi took the second and third positions in a time of 23:22.6 and 23:34.9 respectively.

In the women’s 8km race Violah Jepchumba won the race in a time of 25:56.2 while Gladys Chesire and Cynthia Limo took the second and third positions in a time of 25:56.4 and 26:02.9 respectively.

Bedan Karoki won the men’s 10km race in a time of 28:52.7 while Clement Langat was second in a time of 29:15.4. Stanley Chirchir was third in a time of 29:33.4.
