Indakala dreaming big ahead of volleyball playoffs

Kenya Pipeline head coach Margret Indakala is keen to reclaim the Volleyball Premier League title that she lost last year, after winning it two times in a row.

Indakala blames the exodus of her key players to rivals KCB for their failed title defense, but believes her largely newly assembled team will go all the way this year.

The league playoffs are slated for 22-24 this month at the Kasarani Indoor Arena, with Pipeline expected to play DCI, KCB and Kenya Prisons.

“Last year we had so much happening in the team. Some players were moving to KCB and the head coach followed suit. Although others remained, it was so hard because the so important togetherness and teamwork was not there,” told the coach.

After enough time reassembling the team, Indakala now wants the top gong going into the playoffs.

“Every team goes to the playoffs to win not to lose so I’m working hard to reclaim the cup’’, said Indakala.=

However, the coach is worried some of her key players could miss out on the Kasarani fiesta due to injuries.

“I have major injuries, three centre players underwent knee injury, this includes Trizah Atuka so we are working on closing that gap,” Indakala added.

Poignantly, the coach is handling reception, serving and blocking, areas she says her team must polish before the playoffs.

Ultimately, he tactician is targeting the Africa Club Championship ticket to be held early next year, after conquering the domestic rivals.
