Chapa Dimba southern region champions Super Solico and Isiolo Young Stars from Isiolo will face off in the Eastern region Chapa Dimba finals after winning their respective semi-finals on Saturday at Kitui Showground.

Super Solico eased to the boys’ finals after edging Samba Boys of Moyale 3-2 while Isiolo Young Stars blanked Triumph from Embu 2-0 to set a mouthwatering final date against the Mwingi based team.

Speaking to Citizen Digital after a hard fought win against Samba Boys, Solico’s head coach Bernard Mudachi who led Mwingi Junior Stars to glory last year in the inaugural edition expressed his optimistic of winning the title.

“It was not easy against Samba Boys and after that we will prepare well for tomorrow’s finals although I am quite sure we will triumph,” he told.

His opposite number Abubakar Kipkemoi in his reflections after sailing through maintained they are ready to outmuscle Solico adding that this time round they have to get it right after losing in post match penalties against Mwingi Junior Stars last year.

“You know in the finals anything can happen and we have trained well on penalties and our target remains to represent Eastern in the nationals,” he said.

In girls’ contest, Makueni’s St.Mary’s Ndovea beat Sakuu Queens of Marsabit 3-0 to sail through to the finals while Chuka Starlets came down 1-0 to win 2-1 against Karugwa of Meru. St.Mary’s will tackle Chuka in the finals starting from 9am on Sunday.

The regional winners will receive a cash reward of Sh.200,000 each and a chance to represent the region in the tournament’s national finals set for Meru County in June. The runners-up will also pocket Sh.100,000 each.

Already,Western region’s Bishop Njenga Girls and Lugari Blue Saints as well as Manyatta Boys and Ndhiwa Queens from Nyanza have qualified for the nationals after winning their respective regional title.

After Eastern the tournament moves to Coast, Central, Rift Valley, North Eastern and Nairobi regions as the race to La Liga heats up.
