Its all pain for Kisumu Ladybucks as cash crunch bites

Kisumu LadyBucks head coach Michael Dave has decried the financial difficulties the team is facing noting that honouring away matches has become difficult.

Dave notes that travelling to far-flung destinations like Nairobi and Mombasa to honour away fixtures is taking a toll on the Kisumu based side and has appealed to well-wishers to help support the team.

“In division one we had teams even in Kakamega, Nakuru, Eldoret so sometimes it was easy to travel (because they were closer to us) and with the current restrictions it has become very expensive to travel,” he said.

LadyBucks who earned promotion to the top division this term were at the weekend hammered 86-21 by giants Kenya Ports Authority(KPA) in Kisumu, in their first match of the term after failing to honour past matches in Nairobi due to financial difficulty.

Meanwhile KPA ladies head coach Antony Ojukwu says they need to work on their strength and improve on their weakness ahead of the upcoming matches.

Elsewhere defending champions Equity Hawks humiliated African Nazarene University (ANU) 84-29 on Sunday underlining to defend the title.
