Kenyan international Eric Johana Omondi describe his move to  Jönköpings Södra IF ‘amazing’ after signing a two-year deal with the Swedish second-tier side from IF Brommapojkarna.

It will mark his fourth season in Sweden following his transfer to Vasalund from Mathare United in 2017 before switching to Brommapojkarna who played in the top flight in 2018 and were relegated at the end of that season.

“It feels fantastic! I’ve been waiting for this moment. It feels good to move to a new city and a new club. I am quick and like to challenge one-on-one. I like to score .

“I want the best coach, to be able to develop as much as possible as a player. That is the main reason. This is also a club with a lot of history and that should be in Allsvenskan (top flight),” Johana was quoted by the J Södra website.

J Södra made the announcement on Friday, hours after Johana confirmed he was leaving Brommapojkarna after two seasons although the former Mathare midfielder had yet to disclose his destination.

The club’s sporting director Kujtim Bala hailed Johana as ‘a very sough-after player.’

“We are pleased that Eric chooses J-Södra, as we know that he is a sought-after player that several other clubs have moved on. Eric is a leading player, who is incredibly fast and dangerous. I believe and hope that our audience will enjoy seeing him at Stadsparksvallen,” Bala said.
