Juan Cuadrado’s return to Juventus should be completed in the coming days, according to the club’s director Giuseppe Marotta.

The Colombia international shone on loan from Chelsea last season, and his agent was expected in London over the weekend to convince the Blues to let his client return to Turin.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte said he was unsure of the status of the talks, but Marotta said he hoped to finalise a deal this week.

“I hope that over the next few days we can conclude the Cuadrado deal,” Marotta told Mediaset.

“For now he is a Chelsea player. We presented a proposal to them and are waiting for a response, but we are optimistic.”

However, Moratta conceded that Simone Zaza is set to leave the club to find more playing time.

“We spoke to Zaza,” Marotta said. “The transfer is not a punishment, but he would undoubtedly find more space elsewhere.

“There was the Wolfsburg idea, but it all fell apart. Over the final 10 days of the transfer window, we’ve got all the time to find him a new club.”
