Juma pleased with Leopards cup progression

AFC Leopards football operations manager Tom Juma has hailed his team for qualifying for the FKF Cup round of 32 following a 6-1 crushing victory over Taita Taveta All-Stars in Wundanyi, Taita on Sunday.

In an interview with Citizen Digital, the former Leopards player however says they were not clinical enough noting they could have won by a wider margin.

Elvis Rupiah hit a hat-trick but missed a penalty.

“The clash was good and the win sweet but the most important thing is to qualify to the next round of 32 teams.

Everybody is satisfied with the results and so we now focus on the next game which is Bandari,” Juma said.

Leopards who are targeting a season’s double – the league title and FKF Cup face Bandari this weekend in Mombasa and Juma is of the view that going forward teams will be out to make life ”very difficult” for the big cats.

“Leopards have never had an easy game in the league because teams are preparing very well whenever they come to play us,”‘ he said, ” The Bandari clash is going to be much tougher and we need to prepare rigorously for the Mombasa outing.”

Burundian striker Bienvenue Shaka did not travel with the rest of the team to Taita due to a groin injury but the team will assess him and other players on Tuesday.
