The national under- 20 women football team is under no pressure as they heighten preparations ahead of their return leg World Cup qualifier against Ghana.

The junior Harambee Starlets crashed to a 5-0 defeat in the first leg played in Ghana on November 5 and will no doubt face a Herculean task in their bid to overturn the deficit when they collide in a rematch on November 19.

Though many have already written them off , head coach Caroline Ajowa is refusing to give up yet, noting that they will go all out on  attack when they entertain the west Africans at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.

“I think we played more defensive in the first leg but now we will go out to attack because we have nothing to lose and also we are the ones in need of goals,” said Ajowi.

The team immediately joined their residential training at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos upon  returning from Ghana last week, and according to Ajowi, the girls are in high spirits.

“Morale is high in camp. The girls are really working hard and I hope they can exhibit that in the match for us to register positive results,” Ajowi said, adding.“In football everything is possible.”

A total of 24 players are in camp with Sharon Zainab from Nginda Girls and Sarah Muthoni from Kariobangi North Girls, the only new faces in the team.
