Kabras boss Du Plessis eyeing home playoff final
Kabras Sugar head coach Henley Du Plessis aims at hosting the Kenya cup playoff final as the league enters round match 12 this weekend.
The western-based side is topping the league with 50 points a point ahead of defending champions KCB and according to the South African tactician, home final will help them reclaim the title they lost 2015.
“I’m not going to think about KCB missing their key players who are at New Zealand for the Hamilton Sevens, for us, is just to secure a home playoff final,” Plessis told Citizen Digital.
Kabras face Kisumu RFC away at the Kisumu polytechnic ground with Du Plessis saying it won’t be an easy walk in the park even if their opponents are at the bottom of the overall League standings.
“It won’t be an easy walk in the park, since Kisumu is fighting for survival being at the bottom of the league,” Explained Du Plessis.
“KCB is only one point behind us, so we need to take all the points possible to continue leading the league.
“So this weekend we need to score as many points as possible against Kisumu to help us maintain the lead,” he added.
The South African tactician believes his charges can go all the way and win the maiden.
“We’re playing to top the league making sure we don’t have to travel again, so our aim is to top the league and make everything for us much easier going to the playoffs,” claimed Du Plessis.
Du Plessis added that his charges don’t have any injuries ahead of the encounter saying he will choose his strongest side.
