Kabras out to reclaim Kenya Cup title

Kabras Sugar chairman Phillip Jalango says their target for this term is to win the Kenya Cup title which has eluded them for three seasons.

Jalango said he expects the stoppage caused by COVID-19 pandemic to have some effect on their campaign but warned such should not be an excuse as all teams were affected.

“Off course it’s going to be a difficult season but a special one, as I always tell my boys a disadvantage to us is a disadvantage to our opponents, ” Jalango said.

“We’ve to giving excuses, work hard and target what we want this season which is the Kenya Cup trophy, ” he added.

Kabras last won the trophy in 2016 and Jalango admits they have to be better than champions KCB who have now won it three seasons in a row.

“We respect KCB because they’re the champions but you know that everything that has a start has an end and I’m sure their reign as Kenya Cup Champions is going to come to an end, ” lamented Jalango.

We’re working hard to make sure we bridge the gap between us and them, we’re confident that we’re going to make it and become the team to beat this season, ” added Jalango.

The Enterprise Cup champions will kick off their campaign against varsity side MMUST this weekend at the Bull Ring Ground.
