Kakamega High through to County Schools finals

Kakamega High School qualified for Kakamega County Secondary School Sports Association Games finals after beating Chebuyusi High by 3 goals to nil in a semi-final match staged at the Mumias Sports Complex.

The Western region power house reached semi finals after sailing smoothly through the quarter finals after rival Indangalasia High school was banned from the games for allegedly fielding ineligible players.

In other quarter finals, Butere Boys beat Mumias Muslim Boys by 6 goals to nil while Chebuyusi defeated Lugari by 2 goals to nil.

Musingu High beat Mukumu Boys 4-3 in a penalty shoot-out after managing a one goal draw.

In the girls’ category, Ibinzo Girls beat Shiveye Girls 7-0 while Rehema Girls beat Bushiri 3-0.

Bishop Njenga Girls sailed to the semi finals after beating Matunda Girls 10-0 while Butere Girls defeated Mukomari 2-0.

In volleyball semi finals played at Mumias Central Primary School, Malava Girls handed Butere Girls 3 sets to nil, the same results that Mukumu Girls registered against Mwitoti.

In boys category, volleyball, Malava Boys beat St Josephs Mumias by 3 sets to nil.

Makhukhuni and Sivilie Boys were all disqualified from the semi finals for fielding ineligible players.
