Kakamega school games enter homestretch

Soccer power house Kakamega High School ‘Green Commandos’ face off with Indangalasia High School in the quarter finals of the Kakamega County Secondary Schools Sports Association Games taking place in Mumias.

The former national champions will be eying the finals but will have to prove their strength should they replicate the 6-0 win against Ekambuli and 4-0 win over Muslim Boys High School when they play Indangalasia.

Other schools eyeing the semi-finals include Musingu High School who play Mukumu Boys while Chebuyusi Boys square out with Lugari Boys at Mumias Central Primary School ground.

Musingu thrashed Lwanda 5-0   while Butere beat Kivaywa 3-0 in earlier matches.

Mumias Muslim Boys beat Ekambuli 2-0 while Mukumu won 1-0 against Malaga and shared a point after a barren draw with Chebuyusi.

Lugari Boys beat Lwanda 1-0 in the boys category.

In the ladies category, Butere Girls and Ibinzo Girls will know their opponents after the last group match in Pool C featuring Vuyika and Shiveye while Rehema faces Matunda in the quarters.

Rehema Girls beat Matunda Girls 2-0 as well as thumping Emalindi girls 4-0 while Bishop Njenga Girls hammered Mwira Girls 4-0.

The matches are taking place in Mumias Complex Primary, Mumias Central Primary and Mumias Muslim Secondary.
