KBF toys with May 12 as league restart date

The Kenya Basketball Federation leagues are expected to start mid this month, according to fixture secretary Joseph Amoko.

Amoko says the federation’s top organ will meet on Tuesday to draw a roadmap for the league restart, adding that the strict Covid- 19 protocols, as outlined by the Government, will be followed to the letter, noting that they will give a way forward by tomorrow.

“By Wednesday we will be through with meeting with the government to be told the protocols to be followed when the league resumes but we are hoping we shall restart the league on Saturday 15th of May 2021 and we shall follow all the measures that shall be put in place,” he said.

The leagues were halted in March when the government suspended all sporting activities in the country due to the rise of Covid-19 infections.

The league fixtures are set to be announced by the end of the week with the league action expected to resume by May 15.

When the league was suspended some teams had played four to five games out of the 22 league matches in a season.
