KCB braced for heavyweight Stima clash in NSL
KCB FC will test their title credentials when they entertain National Super League (NSL) leaders Western Stima in Saturday’s top-of-the-table clash at the Camp Toyoyo Grounds in Nairobi.
The Bankers have only one defeat from their opening ten matches and come into the clash on the back of a three-match winning streak in a run that has seen them narrow Stima’s lead to a point.
KCB, who are on 23 points, have a game in hand with a win certain to take them to the summit of the NSL as they seek to strengthen their top flight promotion push.
Head coach John Kamau warned his charges that Stima – who were relegated from the KPL last season – are a quality side and told his charges to stay focused ahead of the crunch match.
“My boys have done a great job so far and we ought to maintain the consistency. It will be big litmus test for us because Stima are playing well at the moment so we mustn’t lose focus,” Kamau told Citizen Digital.
KCB were 1-0 winners over Administration Police in the previous round at the same venue while Stima labored to a 0-0 draw ith Kisumu All Stars at Kisumu’s Moi Stadium
On Sunday, Ushuru FC will entertain sixth-placed Kisumu All-Stars while Kibera Black Stars will hope to bounce back from a humiliating 4-0 defeat to Nairobi Stima when they face Talanta FC at the Hope Center.
