KCB crowned Kakamega Sevens champions

KCB RFC are the new Kakamega Sevens champions after defeating defending champions Homeboyz RFC 21-12 in the final at the Bull Ring Stadium on Sunday.

Simbas prop Vincent Onyala ran over the whitewash to score the first try for KCB with Levy Amunga converting it to give KCB the early 7-0 lead.

Homeboyz Winger Collins Shikoli scored a try Brian Juma converting it to settle it at 7 all at halftime.

Former Homeboyz winger Johnston Olindi scored a try against his former employees with Levy Amunga converting it to make it 14-7.

Isaac Njoroge scored a KCB’s third try Amunga converting it to make it 21-7.

New acquisition Shadon Munoko from Mean machine showed his worth with a hand off against the opponents making the crowd to celebrate him.Collins Mulla came in for the outstanding Njoroge with man of the match Davis
Chenge coming out for Mike Wekesa.

The Deejayz’ center Leornard Mungaisi scored the second try Brian Juma missing the conversion.

KCB assistant coach Dennis Mwanja said that this is just a start big things are yet to come.

“It’s just the beginning of the circuit we’ve rectified our last year’s mistakes of losing in the semi finals and it has born fruits today.”

On his part Simon Odongo complimented the tourney saying that they have learned lessons from the mistakes they have looking forward to do better

Next weekend the circuit is heading to Meru County with third place Mwamba RFC hosting the tournament.
