KCB, Kabras back in fray as Enterprise Cup race hots up
Enterprise Cup champions KCB RFC and Kabras Sugar RFC will make their quarterfinals bow this weekend when they tackle equal enterprise opponents in the quarter-finals.
The two heavyweights were given direct passes to the last 8 by virtue of being Kenya Cup finalists with KCB set to launch their title defense bid against Stanbic Mwamba at the Ruaraka grounds on Saturday.
Following Kisii Resolotion RFC’s no-show, Mwamba sailed through during last weekend’s pre-quarterfinals while Kabras will host Blak Blad at the Kakamega showground.
Varsity side Blak Blad were 25-3 winners over relegated Kenya Cup side Mombasa RFC in the pre-quarters as they earned a last 8 slot.
Homeboyz who staged a 12-11 fightback at the Jamhuri Grounds to knock Kenya Harlequins out of the competition booked a date with Nondescripts RFC at the same venue on Saturday.
Top Fry Nakuru were awarded the abandoned Enterprise Cup pre-quarterfinal tie against Strathmore Leos and will now play away to Resolution Impala Saracens in the quarterfinal on Saturday 21 April.
