Kenga sinks four as GOtv champs Bandari thrash Tezo 7-0

Bandari FC started the defence of the GOtv Shield with a 7-0 mauling of the hapless Kilifi-based Tezo Stars 7-0 where Shaban Kenga buried four on Sunday at the Mombasa County Stadium.

Anthony Kimani set off the goal avalanche in the second minute with a clinical free kick, before Kenga, a former Gor Mahia winger, netting his first at the quarter hour mark.

Striker and 2014 Kenyan Premier League Golden Boot winner winner, Dan Sserenkuma and former AFC Leopards ace Musa Mudde missed clear cut chances that would have put further distance

Just after the restart, Kenga, a Harambee Stars trialist, found the back of the net again before completing his heart-trick in the 73rd.

Interim Bandari coach, Ken Odhiambo, withdrew Mudde for Farid Mohamed who found the net twice, in the 85th and 88th minutes to seal the rout with Kenga, who claimed both assists, leaving the field to standing ovation.

Bandari set a tantalising Round of 32 clash with National Super League side, Nakumatt FC in a repeat of last year’s final.
