Kenya Cup champions KCB off to SA for training

Kenya cup and Enterprise cup champions KCB RFC leave the country on Thursday for high performance training in South Africa, in preparation for the new season where the KCB Lions will be defending the two trophies.

The training will expose the players to world-class rugby training facilities, in a bid to add value to the squad with the new season fast approaching.

“The team had a successful 2016/17 season winning two domestic titles, Kenya Cup and the Enterprise Cup.

“The trip to South Africa is to enable them defend the trophies in the coming season,” KCB Group Marketing and Communications Director Angela Mwirigi told.

The Bankers will play a couple of build-up matches in South Africa, before attending a super rugby game at Newlands in Cape Town when giants Stormers clash with Sunwolfs.

Team Manager Rooney Kangeta has lauded the Bank for sponsoring the team to the Western Province Rugby Union, noting the trip will be a major boost to the team’s preparation for the 2017/2018 rugby season.

The squad is expected to jet back home on July 9.
