Kenya Rugby Junior Team heads to Zimbabwe

The Chipu squad that will represent Kenya at the Rugby Afrique Division 1A Under 19 competition in Harare was announced on Wednesday morning by Head Coach Paul Odera.

Speaking about the side’s composition, Odera said: “I think it has been good for us to choose players from across the country. With that I feel it is also a representative team for the country.”

“It is very intense, we are taking of two finals. If we lose, we are playing a final to stay up. If we win, we’re playing in a final to win the tournament.”

Team captain Tyson Okoth said: “Morale in the team is high. We are confident of a good performance in Harare.”

The team departs the country on Monday, August 24th and play a direct semi final against hosts Zimbabwe on Wednesday 26 August.

The winner of this match qualifies for the final against the winner of the Namibia-Uganda clash taking place on the same day at the same venue.
