Kenya’s women beach volleyball team is heading to the Tokyo Olympic Games after edging Nigeria in African Qualifiers cum Continental Cup final in Agadir, Morocco.

Kenya spanked the West African opponents in sets of 2-1 and 2-0 to seal their place at the Summer Games for the first time in the country’s history.

The pair of Phoscah Kasisi and Yvonne Wavinya defeated Nigeria’s Team One 2-0 (21-17, 21-10) which had the duo of Touch Nnoruga and Francisca Albertina in the first match.

In the second, Gaudencia Makokha and Brackcides Agala came from a set down to edge Nigeria’s Team Two of Amarachi Nwachukwu and Francisca Ikhiede 2-1(17-21,21-18,15-10).
