Kenya Sevens team arrives in SA for cup qualifiers

The Kenya Sevens team arrived in South Africa Thursday afternoon with the favorites tag hanging on them.

Though Kenya are favorites to clinch the sole ticket to the games, Namibia has shown intent by including eight 2015 world cup stars in the team for the qualifiers.

The eight played in the just concluded rugby world cup in England.

Winger David Philander, Rusel Van Wyk, Heinrich  Smit, fullback Johann Tromp and fullback Damian Stevens are the players drafted.

Namibia has also recruited Kenya Sevens outcasts, assistant coach Vuyo Zangqa and strength and conditioning coach Graham Bentz.

Coach Benjamin Ayimba has assembled the best available squad with seasoned players joined by a few youngsters.

Kenya and Namibia are now favorites to reach the finals of the qualifiers to be played on Saturday 14 th and Sunday 15th November 2015.
