Kenya sink Eritrea, set up Tanzania showdown in CECAFA U20 finals

The Kenya U20 national team will face Tanzania in the CECAFA U20 finals Saturday following a 1-0 win against Eritrea in the semi-finals on Wednesday at the FUFA Technical Center in Jinja, Uganda.

An own goal from Yosief Mebrahtu in 85th minute powered the Rising Stars into the finals setting up a grand finale with Tanzania who edged Sudan with a similar score line in the other last four clash.

Head coach Stanley Okumbi made three changes in his starting team handing Brian Wepo a starting berth after serving a one-match suspension in the quarterfinal against Burundi.

Benson Omala, who scored the winner against Burundi, was also brought in while Musa Masika shrugged off a groin injury to make the starting team.

Rising Stars are unbeaten in the tournament following a 5-0 rout against Zanzibar in their opening match, 2-2 draw with Tanzania and a resounding 4-0 win against Ethiopia in the last eight.
