Kenya thrashes Uganda in T20 Quadrangular Series tie

Kenya crushed neighbours Uganda by seven wickets won during their Quadrangular Twenty20 Series with 25 balls to spare.

The hosts won the toss and put Uganda to bat began to toss while giving their opponents Uganda before restricting them 129 for 7 in their alloted 20 overs.

Needing 130 in reply, Kenya set about the run chase and reached their target in 13.5 overs to wrap victory.

Opener Irfan Karim smashed an unbeaten 70 from 58 balls to lead the charge for Kenya in an innings that produced nine fours and a six.

Captain Rakep Patel and Dhiren Gondaria added 31 and 20 runs in Kenya’s chase as the hosts recovered from losing to Saudi Arabia on Tuesday.

Coach Thomas Odoyo said his boys were well prepared and fit to face Qatar in their next game.

“I played with every player to mark his skills and see where I can polish. I expected any result though Kenya is a best team,” former Kenya captain and Uganda coach, Steve Tikolo, said from his end.

Saudi Arabia lead the table on six with followed by Qatar and Kenya on three points.
