Kenya to face Burundi in July in the first leg CHAN qualifier

Kenya will play Burundi  in Nairobi on July 26 in the fist installment of the African Nations Championship  qualifiers(CHAN), with the reverse fixture slated for two days later in Burundi.

The winner on aggregate between the two sides will face either Tanzania or Sudan in the second and final qualifying round.

Meanwhile, the under-23 national football team,  Emerging Stars will report to camp to begin their preparations on March 11 for the upcoming two legged 2019 AFCON U-23 qualifiers against Sudan with the first leg of the tie set to be played in Khartoum on March 20  before a return leg in Nairobi four days later.

Meanwhile,  Ghana will host Harambee Stars at the Accra Sports Stadium on March 22 in their final group match of the 2019 AFCON.

Both teams are already guaranteed to participate in this year’s most elite competition in Cairo, Egypt but the clash could prove to be vital as each side will be looking for maximum points to top Group D.

Ghana will also be heading into the tie with the aim of revenge having suffered unexpected defeat in the reverse fixture at Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani  last year.

The draw for the group stages for the qualified teams will take place later in Cairo,Egypt on April  12.

This will be the first be the first time Kenya will be participating in the AFCON since 2004 when they were under the tutelage of Jacob ‘Ghost’ Mulee.
