Kenya to face Eqypt in FIBA Africa Zone five qualifiers final

Kenya ladies basketball team set base in the Fiba Africa Zone Five Qualifiers finals, after bashing out hosts Uganda 67-62 in a lively semi-final at the Lugogo indoor courts, Uganda on Sunday (31).

The lionesses will battle Egypt who routed Rwanda 78-73 in the other semi-final, to recap another match with the Lionesses after thumping them 86-82 in a strong-willed opening match.

Femas Koranga Kenya’s game-high point of 19 fired the lionesses to the finals with counterparts Hilda Indasi and Betty Kananu playing co-stars slotting 12 and 8 points sequentially.

Ugandan Clare Lamumu Game-high point of 21 could not prevent charging lionesses from winning the match, with Lamumu’s counterparts Martha Soigi and Zama backing her with 10 points each.

The hosts managed to rout the lionesses 66-44 in the preliminaries and had approached the match head high to their disappointment.

Lionesses managed to edge out Rwanda 92-80 in their second match after Egypt rout before thumping Uganda in the Semi-finals

Soraya Degeidy game-high points of 21 and 4 assists pushed the Pharaohs to the finals.

The lionesses will face Egypt in the finals on Monday (1) at 5 pm.
