Kenyan referees in for Gold Cup duty

Five Kenyan referees have been handed ‘assistant’ roles in the ongoing Africa Gold Cup, which acts as World Cup qualifiers.

With match day referees coming either from France or South Africa, the Kenyan officials will be assistants in various matches.

Victor Oduor will assist in three matches, the first game at Hage Geingob Stadium-Windhoek where Namibia will host Senegal on November 8.

Oduor will be the assistant referee alongside Saudah Adiru of Uganda, while South African Egon Seconds will be at the center.

On July 15, Oduor will be on the pitch again alongside fellow Kenyan Peris Mukoko with Soth Africa’s Lesego Legoete leading as the center referee, while neighbors Uganda host Tunisia at Kyadondo Rugby Club, Kampala.

Moses Undungu will be on the pitch on July 22, with counterpart Emmanuel Marete in a match pitting Uganda and Namibia in Kampala whereas Jaco Van Heerden will be tasked the center.

Oduor will then return on August 5 alongside Peris Mukoko who will be assisting in her second match of the cup, as Uganda play Zimbabwe.

Kenya’s match against Tunisia will be led by Thomas Charabas of France assisted by Oscar Lambert and Nicardo Pienaar all from Namibia.

Oscar and Pienaar will also feature in the Zimbabwe’s match against the Simbas, South African Lesego Legoete officiating as the main man.

Rasta Rasivhenge from South Africa will be the center referee when Jerome Paarwaters boys will play Namibia away assisted by Precious Pazani alongside Julian Mundawarara all from Zimbabwe.
