Kenya’s women basketball team, Lionesses, will be face Egypt in the final of the 2021 FIBA Women’s Afrobasket Qualifiers Zone Five after thrashing Rwanda 79-52 in the semi-final played at the Kigali Arena, Rwanda on Friday.

The Lionesses dominated all quarters, winning 25-11 in the first quarter before another win of 17-12 in the second quarter, going to halftime leading 42-23.

In the second half Kenya started from where they stopped registering a massive 26-14 win in the third quarter before losing 15-11 in the last quarter.

The two sides had met at the group stage with Kenya losing 45 -77. In the other semi-final, red-hot Egypt hammered newcomers South Sudan 99-65.

The final between Kenya and Egypt will be played after the third place playoff between hosts Rwanda and South Sudan.

A single ticket is up for grabs from the zone for the Afrobasket Championship that will be held in Cameroon in September.
