Kericho County to host KICOSCA Games

Kericho County Government will be the host of the seventh edition of the Kenya Inter County Sports and Cultural Association (KICOSCA) Games slated for August.

The Governor of Kericho County Hon. Paul Chepkowony received the letter of authority to host the games from the County Assemblies Sports Association (Casa) organizing committee in Kericho.

Governor Chepkwony received KICOSCA ceremonial chain and peace torch from the outgoing patron Kisii governor James Ongwae whose county hosted the sixth edition of the KICOSCA games.

Speaking after receiving the KICOSCA ceremonial chain and peace torch from the outgoing patron host governor, Chepkwony said the county was more than geared up for the event.
“The event will commence immediately the county is given a green light to host the event and I assure the committee that they made the right choice in choosing Kericho County to host the event,”said Governor Chepkwony.

The opening and closing ceremony for the games will be conducted at Kericho green stadium and as Chepkwony remains certain the track will be fitted with tartan before the event kicks off.

“I want to confirm that the Kisii team has already registered for this year’s event and assure you that my team will be larger than the team from Kericho,” said Ongwae, Kisii governor.

However, Ongwae assured Chepkwony that Kisii County will have a stronger team to challenge them in this year’s games.

“The games will assist the county government workers to re-energize and improve efficiency once they return to work and give better service in public work delivery.”

Chepkwony further asked the county residents to take advantage of the event and do businesses during the entire sporting period.
